Chaucer Safer Neighbourhood Team are having a breakfast event on the Rockingham Estate the day before Ramadan fasting starts where representatives from all the faith groups will attend. This would stretch to groups from across the sector. The aim would be to promote inter-faith understanding at the start of a major religious holiday. We would be looking to attract participants of all ages and could input crime prevention, Operation CURB and also promote the counter terrorism message. | |

Livesey Safer Neighbourhood Team are putting on an inter-generational event at the 'Links' centre at 1.30pm. The event will combine Year 6 pupils from Ilderton Road primary and Senior citizens from the Bonamy Pensioners group. We will be planting an Olive tree with an inscribed plaque in the garden at the rear of the centre. We will also have a balloon release. The balloons will carry messages of peace from the Pensioners and the children. PCSO Steve will also be attending. | |

A community celebration of Keib Thomas will be held on the afternoon of Friday September 14th 2007 at Southwark Cathedral and Glaziers Hall. Keib, who sadly passed away on 1st July 2007 was actively involved with the work of many community and voluntary organisations. The event will begin at Glaziers Hall, 9 Montague Close, SE1 at 1:00pm with light refreshments and move to Southwark Cathedral at 2:20pm for a 2.30pm start. The Cathedral celebration will include speakers, poetry and music. There will then be a networking session to promote community cohesion at Glazier's Hall from 3:30pm to 5pm where there will be community stalls, speaking, art displays and music. | |
