 Event 2 : Peace Walk

Details :  
Walking Together in Peace - The Golders Green Safer Neighbourhood Police team have organised a Peace Walk for all yr 6 primary school children in the community to take part.  During the walk they will visit a synagogue, church, Greek orthodox church, Hindu temple and Buddhist centre to learn a little about the different faiths and cultures. Each child participant will receive a certificate. The aim is to teach children to view their religious and cultural differences in a positive light, to celebrate and respect those differences and promote togetherness because of the differences not in spite of them.

The Brunswick Park Safer Neighbourhood Team is planning a 'Peace Forum' for Monday 10th September 2007 with of representatives from different faiths and audience from the ward.  The forum will have the following agenda:-  'A Peaceful Youth'.  The aim of the meeting is to discuss and agree on a multi-faith approach towards promoting youth diversion on the Ward.

 This is an informal working breakfast which four of the Ward faith leaders are attending along with the Ward youth club manager to discuss youth diversion on the Ward under the banner of 'A Peaceful Youth'.

 Event 12 :  Planting of Olive Trees

Details :  
 London Peace week is upon us. In order to celebrate this event
Totteridge and Oakleigh Safer neighbourhood teams are going to plant a
number of symbolic olive trees. This will be done in the front garden area
of Whetstone police station
As you are no doubt aware the olive tree is ancient in its origin
and is mentioned throughout history as symbolising Peace. Therefore, it is
entirely appropriate that during the celebration of peace week these trees
are planted to symbolise diversity, equality and respect and above all
Peace.

Details :  
High Barnet & Golders Green Police Stations are holding an Open Day with various attractions and are inviting their partners from both statutory and non-statutory agencies, voluntary groups and organisations including a police helicopter fly-by, police dog section, Police Traffic Department, Forensic Science Services, High Barnet Street Pastors, London Fire Brigade, Barnet Rolling Base, Barnet Partnership Trailer and artistic performances from the local Susie Earnshaw Theatre School

Underhill Safer Neighbourhood Team are holding a schools' competition to design a poster based on community cohesion.  A winner will be selected from each school to go forward to a grand final.  The overall winner will have their design printed onto a t shirt.
