About the Awards
Many Londoners across out capital city, individually and collectively are doing unique things to make peace possible in their local communities. This year guided by our theme of ‘Giving Back’ we are asking Londoners to nominate those they feel have made a positive contribution to society. These wards are sponsored by partners from the public and private sector and winners will receive a monetary gift.
In all cases recipients will be shown to have contributed to greater community cohesion, safety and peace in local neighborhoods as well as the Capital. While some categories lend themselves to nominations for major projects impacting across
London
, there is plenty of scope to recognize the enterprise and commitment of individuals and groups at local level.
The Event
We are looking for excellent examples of work that helps local people and brings peace to neighborhoods through celebration, reconciliation and collaboration. Examples from the past projects include school mentoring; martial arts training for young people, faith based community support; volunteers who have made outstanding contributions to reducing violence in their neighborhoods and faith based groups who help vulnerable young people. Where appropriate the winning entries will be
publicized to partnerships and voluntary groups across
London
as examples of potential good practice.
